Academic Examination Rules of Examination
  • Bsc. Examination Rules
    • The medium of examination shall be English.
    • Anatomy and Physiology (25+25): – Question paper will consist of Section A of Both MCQ’s (5+5 marks) and Section B of Anatomy (20 marks) and Section C of Physiology (20 marks).
    • Nutrition and Biochemistry (30+20): – Question paper will consist of Section A of Both MCQ’s (5+5 marks) and Section B of Nutrition (25 marks) and Section C of Biochemistry (15 marks).
    • Pharmacology, Pathology, and Genetics [(25) +(15+10)]:- Question paper will consist of Section A of Both MCQ’s- (Pharmacology+ Pathology=5+5 marks) and Section B of Pharmacology (20 Marks) and Section C of both Pathology (10 Marks) & Genetics (10 Marks).
    • Nursing Research & Statistics (35+15): – Question paper will consist of Section A of MCQ’s-(Research 10 marks) and Section B of Research (25 marks) and Section C of Statistics (15 marks).
    • Theory & Practical exams for Introduction to Computer are to be conducted as college exams and marks are to be sent to the Dean (Examination)/ Examination Controller, AIIMS for inclusion in the Detail Marks Sheet.
    • The Regional language subject shall be conducted as a college exam, but marks shall not be included in the marks sheet.
    • A candidate must have a minimum of 80% attendance in theory and in practical (irrespective of the kind of absence) to appear in the examination. If attendance is lacking, then the candidate will be detained from appearing in the particular subject.
    • A candidate must have 100% attendance in each of the practical areas before the award of the Degree. If attendance is lacking or any, proper remedial measures will be undertaken to compensate for the shortage of practical attendance from time to time.
    • A student, who absences herself from the examination will be considered absent.
    • A candidate has to pass in theory and practical exams separately in both internal and external of each paper.
    • A student will be deemed to have passed in the subject if she obtains a minimum of 50% marks in each subject in theory and practical exams separately in both internal and external, but for English, minimum pass marks shall be 40%.
    • If a candidate fails in the subject (either theory or practical) has to appear in the examination for both theory and practical paper of that subject.
    • If a candidate fails in any subject, a maximum of three attempts (including the first attempt) are permitted for each subject. If any candidate could not pass in 3 attempts, shall be demoted and has to appear in all the subjects of that year (repeat the year) in the subsequent annual examination.
    • Provision of supplementary examinations should be made once in a year in between the session.
    • A candidate, who fails in up to two papers, shall be admitted provisionally in the next year but she has to clear those papers in the next two subsequent attempts. If the candidate taking the supplementary examination along with next year examination her result of the next class will be declared only if she passes previous examination. In case if she fails to clear supplementary examination in two subsequent attempts she would be demoted and has to appear in all the subjects of that year (repeat the year) in the subsequent annual examination.
    • A candidate failing in more than two subjects will not be promoted to the next year and she has to appear in all the subjects of that year (repeat the year) in subsequent annual examination with regular course of instruction by paying the prescribed fee of that year. Furthermore, the candidate may have a provision to improve the internal assessment marks of that year.
    • The maximum period to complete the course successfully should not exceed eight years.
    • An examiner should be an Assistant Professor or above position in a College of Nursing with M.Sc. Nursing qualification in respective subject and minimum of 3 years of teaching experience after obtaining postgraduate nursing qualification at Collegiate/ University level.
    • All the papers must be evaluated by subject experts only, and it is preferable for the nursing subjects to have both internal and external subject experts to evaluate different sections of the exam paper (Section B -External expert, Section C- Internal expert).
    • Maximum number of candidates for all practical examination should not exceed 30 per day.
    • All practical examinations must be held in the respective clinical areas.
    • Internal and External Examiner should jointly conduct practical examination of each student.
    • Grace marks and re-evaluation is not permitted in any subject. However, recounting of the papers may be allowed if a candidate desires.
    • Declaration of class shall be done as follows:
      • A successful candidate obtaining 75% and more marks in the grand total aggregate in the first attempt shall be declared to have passed with Distinction.
      • A successful candidate obtaining 60% and more but less than 75% of marks in the grand total aggregate shall be declared to have passed with First Class.
      • A successful candidate obtaining 50% and more marks but less than 60% of marks in the grand total aggregate shall be declared Pass.
  • Msc. Examination Rules
    • The medium of examination shall be English.
    • Nursing Research and Statistics (50+25):- Question paper will consist of Section A of Nursing Research (50 marks) and Section B of Statistics (25 marks).
    • A candidate must have a minimum of 80% attendance in theory and 90% in practical (irrespective of the kind of absence) to appear in the examination. If attendance is lacking,then the candidate will be detained from appearing in the particular subject. However, in extreme circumstances 5% waive off attendance may be done by the Principal, College of Nursing.
    • A candidate must secure 50% of internal marks in each subject (both theory and practical subjects) to appear in the examination. If failed to score 50% of marks, then the candidate will be detained from appearing in the particular subject.
    • A candidate must have 100% attendance in each of the practical areas before the award of the Degree. If attendance is lacking or any, proper remedial measures will be undertaken to compensate for the shortage of practical attendance from time to time.
    • A student, who absences herself from the examination will be considered absent.
    • A candidate has to pass in theory and practical exams separately in both internal and external of each paper.
    • A student will be deemed to have passed in the subject if he/she obtains a minimum of 50% marks in each subject in theory and practical exams separately in both internal and external.
    • The internal assessment shall be determined by evaluation of the student’s day-to-day work, as well as on the basis of the results of the various term examinations and the performance in the tutorials, seminars, academic and clinical requirements, etc. that are held during the whole course.
    • If a candidate fails in the subject (either theory or practical) he/she has to appear in the examination for both theory and practical paper of that subject.
    • If a candidate fails in any subject, shall be permitted to continue studies into the second year. However, he/she shall not be allowed to appear for the second-year examination till such time that he/she passes all the subjects of the first-year M.Sc. Nursing examination.
    • A candidate who fails to pass the first year M. Sc. Nursing examination in the three successive examinations shall not be permitted to continue further in her/his studies at the AIIMS.
    • A candidate shall have passed in all the papers of the first year M. Sc. Nursing examination at least 6 months prior to appearing in the second year M. Sc. Nursing examination.
    • Supplementary examination will be held once a year in between the sessions.
    • The maximum period to complete the course successfully should not exceed four years.
    • An examiner should be a Nursing faculty working in the capacity of Assistant Professor or above position in a College of Nursing in the same clinical speciality holding Ph.D./M.Sc. Nursing with a minimum of 5 years teaching experience after obtaining postgraduate nursing qualification at the Collegiate/ University level, and currently involved in PG programme.
    • For Dissertation, the Internal examiner should be the Guide of the candidate and the External examiner should be from Nursing faculty working in the capacity of Assistant Professor or above position in a College of Nursing in the same clinical speciality holding Ph.D./M.Sc. Nursing with a minimum of 5 years teaching experience after obtaining postgraduate nursing qualification at the Collegiate/ University level, and having a minimum of 3 years experience in guiding research projects for Post Graduate students of Nursing.
    • All the papers must be evaluated by subject experts only, and it is preferable to have both internal and external subject experts to evaluate different sections of the exam paper (Section A -External expert, Section B- Internal expert),
    • For practical examinations, it is preferable to have two external examiners to conduct the practical along with the internal examiner.
    • All practical examinations must be held in the respective clinical areas.
    • Internal and External Examiner should jointly conduct practical examination of each student.

    • रिसर्च और आर्किटेक्चर (35+15):- प्रश्न पत्र में एमसीक्यू का खंड ए (अनुसंधान 10 अंक) और अनुसंधान का खंड बी (25 अंक) और अनुसंधान का खंड सी (15 अंक) शामिल होंगे।
    • कंप्यूटर परिचय के लिए क्लासिकल और स्टेरल जनरल कॉलेज कॉलेजों में आयोजित की जाने वाली सामग्री और माप को विस्तृत अंक पत्र में शामिल करने के लिए डीन (परीक्षा)/परीक्षा नियंत्रक, एम्स को भेजा जाएगा।

    • यदि किसी ऑर्केस्ट्रा आंतरिक और सांस्कृतिक दोनों मंदिरों में अलग-अलग शास्त्रीय और सांस्कृतिक मंदिरों में प्रत्येक विषय में न्यूनतम 50% अंक प्राप्त होता है, तो उसे उस विषय में समझ में आता है, लेकिन अंग्रेजी के लिए न्यूनतम सांस्कृतिक अंक 40% होगा।
    • यदि किसी वैज्ञानिक विषय (सैद्धान्तिक या सांकेतिक) में अनुशासन हो तो उसे उस विषय के सिद्धान्त और सांकेतिक अध्ययन पत्रों की परीक्षा में शामिल किया जाएगा।
    • यदि किसी विषय में अनुशासन हो तो प्रत्येक विषय के लिए अधिकतम तीन प्रयास (प्रथम प्रयास सहित) का अधिकार होता है। यदि किसी नामांकित तीन अध्ययन में रुचि नहीं हो पाती है, तो उसे पदावनत कर दिया जाएगा और उसे आगामी वार्षिक परीक्षा में उस वर्ष के सभी विषयों (वर्ष को दोहराना) में शामिल किया जाएगा।
    • सत्रह के बीच वर्ष में एक बार मिर्ज़ाख़्वार का प्रोविज़न आयोजित किया जाना चाहिए।
