October 20 is observed as world osteoporosis day to create awareness amongst the population about the morbidity associated with this common clinical condition and also the simple effective measures to prevent it. On this important health occasion, the following events were conducted by the Department of Orthopaedics at AIIMS Mangalagiri.

Department of Physiology organized a CME cum Workshop on The Physiological and Technical aspects of Heart Rate Variability on 5th Jan 2020. Senior faculty, faculty, PG & UG students of Physiology from various regions of Andhra Pradesh participated in the programme.

World environment day 2023 on the theme ‘Only one Earth’, was celebrated in AIIMS Mangalagiri campus on 5th June 2023. The following activities were carried out with the sanitation and hygiene committee, social and environment club, and nursing officers association under the Swachhta action plan.

World conservation day was celebrated on 28.07.2022 on the AIIMS Mangalagiri campus. A host of events and activities were organized by the institute’s students, nursing officers, staff, and faculty. The efforts were undertaken under the ages of the social and environment club of the students and the sanitation and hygiene committee under the Kayakalp scheme. The following events were organized.

World Cancer Day every 4 February is the global uniting initiative to raise worldwide awareness, improving education and catalyzing personal, collective and government action, for reducing preventable cancer deaths.

The pot painting competition was organized by the social and environment club under the swachhta action plan on 18.03.2023 in the UG amenities hall. The even generated great enthusiasm and had participants from students, nursing officers and faculty of Aiims Mangalagiri.

International nurses day is celebrated at AIIMS Mangalagiri with lots of Zeal and Zest.The programme was started with prayer song and lamp lightening by the dignitaries. Welcome speech was given by Dr. Vineet Abraham Thomas followed by dignitaries’ speech. With the global initiative of eradication of polio in 1988 following World Health Assembly resolution in 1988, Pulse Polio Immunization programme was launched in India in 1995. Children in the age group of 0-5 years are administered polio drops during National and Sub-national immunization rounds (in high risk areas) every year.

National immunization day NID 2020 is observed Today 19th Jan. Polio vaccine is given all under 5 children at AIIMS Mangalagiri OPD 7 am to 5 pm.

The Honourable Director, AIIMS Mangalagiri, Prof Dr. Mukesh Tripathi inaugurated the vertigo lab on 06.01.2021. The vertigo lab in the department of ENT has state of the art equipment like Videonystagmography with Computerised Dynamic Posturography, which has been procured under the project funded by the Department of Health Research, ICMR. In addition to the research work, the lab will be useful in the diagnostic armamentarium and management of patients with balance disorders.

The college round of the 36th IAP UG Pediatric Quiz Finals was held on July 15, 2023, from 2 to 4 pm in the 1st Floor lecture hall of the Medical Lab block. Five teams were selected out of 40 participating teams based on a screening test conducted on April 15, 2023
